Despite the media’s dismal portrayal of Black marriage and its relentless effort to encourage Black women to abandon the idea of a happy marriage with a Black man, they are still getting married. In addition, there are people working hard to strengthen the bond between Black couples.
Black And Married With Kids is an organization started by Lamar and Ronnie Tyler, which focuses on helping African-American couples keep their marriages together.
Because of their successful work in helping thousands of African-American marriages, their website now has a huge following, with over 250,000 fans on its Facebook page. The couple has also earned several awards, and has been named on Essence magazine’s Power Couples on The Move list alongside the Obamas and Beyoncé and Jay Z.
